Spargo is not open yet. This site takes an email address so we can write to you about it. This page is what happens to that address.

Who is responsible

Spargo is responsible for the addresses on this list. For anything about your data, whether a question, a correction or a deletion, write to hello@spargo.dev.

What is collected

• Your email address.
• Campaign parameters from the link you followed, that is utm_source, utm_campaign or ref where the link carries them, so we can tell which post brought people.
• A one-way hash of your IP address, which cannot be turned back into it. It exists so one machine cannot flood the list.
• The time you signed up.

Separately from the list, the visit itself is counted: pages viewed, the site or search that sent you, approximate location from your IP address, and the kind of device. That is statistics, kept apart from your email address and never joined to it.

No account, no password, no name, no phone number, and no tracking of you across other websites.

Why, and on what basis

To email you about Spargo while it is being built and when it opens, and to count how many people asked. The legal basis is your consent, given by submitting the form. You can withdraw it at any time by asking us to delete your address.

We do not sell or rent the list, and we do not use it to email you about anything other than Spargo.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies on this site (_ga and one named for this property) so that a returning visit is not counted twice. They hold a random identifier and nothing else. Advertising features and Google Signals are switched off, so this site sets no advertising cookie and builds no profile of you across other websites. Page views are also counted by a second, cookieless service.

If you would rather not be counted at all, Google publishes an opt-out add-on for most browsers, and this site honours it.

Who else sees it

The hosting and database providers that run this site, acting on our instructions and not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. Your address is stored and processed in the European Union.

Visit statistics are processed by Google (Google Analytics and Search Console), which may transfer them to the United States under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Your email address is not among them and does not leave the European Union.

It is not sold, rented, or shared with advertisers.

How long it is kept

Until Spargo opens and you have been told, and a while after that in case you want an account. You can ask for it to be deleted sooner at any time.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what is stored about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. One email to hello@spargo.dev is enough. If you are in the EU or UK and are unhappy with how we have handled it, you may complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes

If this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
